I call them a hoard and they can be in groups of 50 taking over our streets and yards. They will jump your vehicle, scratching it and pooping all over your property. They are a huge annoyance and multiply like crazy and being protected in my State doesn't help the situation. The males can be extremely aggressive when protecting their females. I've come to dislike turkeys so much!

I like the look of amaranth. I've bought the grain, and I don't like the taste very much, I prefer quinoa, teff, farro, millet, or anything else. The leaves, though edible, have a weird chemical taste to my palette. It is similar to the wild amaranth/hogweed that grows as a weed. Since it is an annual and requires some effort to get going, I will probably not do it again. Our early girl tomatoes were not early, but we have had issues with inconsistent moisture that may be effecting our tomatoes. Our early girls grew well in our area, so we were happy with them. I agree that the cherry tomatoes we have have had much more early production and much more quantitiy.

I grow tomatoes indoors with no grow light and they are like 4/5ft tall. I have used grow bloom and micro nutrients though. I have never removed any lower growth and they are all fine i have 11 huge plants and nowhere to put them as i dont have a garden. Ive started growing things at home getting them into seedlings and wild planting in places where nobody goes i take tubs of plants and hope they survive a few hour hike with the dog. But hopefully this time next year i will have had some rewards from the things i planted. I have ADHD and doing plants and messing about helps me hugely i think ive been doing something for 10 mins and ive been at it for hours. I love it

I’ve struggled to grow cucumbers. My sub-tropical climate in North Florida does them in pretty quickly. Two years ago, I heard about Beit Alpha, and gave it a try. I had more cukes than I knew what to do with. I was thrilled and thought I had cracked the code. The next spring, I was late planting, and they all got fungus, mildew and wilt before they produced the first cuke. I’ll try to get them going next spring before it gets too hot. We’ll see.

I’m an impulse buyer also. Last fall I bought 2 bushes and then in spring another 7. I live in N Alabama with very clay soil. I knew nothing and this summer they all produced and I did not stop them. However the grass is growing all around them. Do you think I should add soil, peat moss, and can’t recall the third thing you recommended, but add all that to the top? I did add the Jobbs soil acidified a couple months back. I also think they may have copper fungus. I was thinking buying a tree ring, adding the 3 soil things, and pine needles to the top. (I have lots of pine needles) Do you think that’ll work? Also, do you get your soil tested for the PH?

This year I have probably grown the healthiest and most robust aubergine plants I have ever cultivated, in a polytunnel, 18 inches or 2 ft apart in a double row, 15 metres long, in good fertile greenhouse soil. I have kept them watered regularly and they are now a forest of foliage around a metre tall. As you could probably tell me, having seen your video, I do however have NO fruit, other than two absolute beauties from the F1 plants at the very end of the row. I know now that I will need to ruthlessly prune the plants next year to three or so main stems and keep the sideshoots pruned constantly but is there anything I can do NOW, almost the end of August, to ensure that at least I get some fruit from what is already there? Some flowers are forming at the very tops of the plants now but the rest is just dense impenetrable foliage. Would it help to ruthlessly take off all bar three or so main stems now? I am worried such drastic pruning so late might just kill the plants at this stage. What would you do? I just leave my 'hedge' in place will they produce some late fruit at the very top?

When I had a large plot of land, I planted pumpkin seeds with corn seeds, just for the heck of it both grew very large and wide and packed that had a sea of pumpkin leaves, and trees of corn for the deer to eat. I had so many little baby pumpkins out here that my kids school that I had enough to give every child one pumpkin at mu son’s school. That’s like 300 plus. Now I have a smaller plot and I’ve been using containers. I tried pumpkins in the back corner, but didn’t work because there’s no airflow. I have this idea I might grow them against the fence so they have something to climb. I do have some volunteer growing the corners that squirrel dropped and I’m just letting them go for the heck

Was warned by many people about zucchinis producing like mad... so I made the mistake of planting only ONE. The plant was actually doing great, and bugs and diseases have left it alone, but at some point it sort of tilted over and the main stem broke right underneath the few first small roots (I closely examined it and there was no sign of burrower damage or presence whatsoever). Well, to my surprise, the plant not only survived but sprouted a WHOLE NEW plant from its main stem. The older plant never produced anything and is now starting to wilt, but the new clone is now filled with zucchinis! Better late than never I guess!

I stopped pruning like this quite a few years ago. I mostly prune to just remove some density of the plant and whatever leaves are close to the ground now. At a certain point in the season about 3 weeks before the end of the season I top much of the plant and it puts its energy towards the tomatoes. This gives me huge tomatoes and quite a lot of them. I have had a single indeterminate fill a plastic laundry basket about halfway at harvest. I only plant about 10 plants and they produce enough tomatoes for me to make a couple dozen jars of salsa, and a bunch of sauce and enough to eat fresh for nearly 4 months. I pick them green and they ripen slowly over the winter. I also don't support them much.. They flop over and root and I've found this to give more fruit as well. I think people need to be willing to experiment in the garden. Especially for their setups. I kept being told the suckers are the enemy and kept believing it. But there's nuance to it. Some of them are the enemy. Others turn into more solar panels that feed energy into the plant. And that's a common sense thing. You are removing new leaves which help the plant grow faster and make tomatoes faster, you are also removing new flowers this way too. You just don't want it going absolutely wild because it gets diseases easier. My plants are about 3x bigger pruning this way.. and I get at least double what I used to at harvest. Tomatoes want to be quite large. I think the single leader method can help in some cases, but I don't think its giving the best result for most. Suckers aren't the enemy. I think the ones that hurt the plant are the ones that form in locations that can't get any light or airflow. Removing those and leaving others seems to have been the best result for me. I've been growing tomatoes for about 12 years now. I try different methods each year and this has been the best result so far. I believe they were pruned like this so that they were easy to support and they looked nice. Not because its the best way to grow them. Since my bigger, multi-stemmed tomatoes have outperformed them every single time.
